Invalids
We are working in partnership with Ukraine social protection department and a charitable organization, Harmony. Through these organization we have open doors to the orphanages for disabled, those living at home, and working relations with various groups striving to meet the physical, social, and educational needs of invalids of all ages.
Harmony is a Ukraine registered organization set up by and for disabled young adults. They have quite a network of volunteers working with them and quite an outreach program already in place which includes bringing drama and celebrations to shut-ins and orphanages.
They were given a building and their dream is to have a physical therapy center with equipment, computers for lessons and possible job opportunities, counseling and seminars.
Working with another organization that brings in and refurbishes wheelchairs, Harmony seeks to be a wheelchair distribution center for all of Vinnitsa Oblast (state).
They seek funds for the publishing of a newsletter to shut-ins and sponsorship for a camp they do in the summer where up to 12 disabled young people from remote villages are invited. Each is paired with a volunteer personal attendant and the programs they offer address legal, social, economic, physical, and emotional needs.
