Information for Pastor support.
Working through our relationships with the
Vinnitsa Oblast (state) Association of
Evangelical Christians - Baptists
From the main church in the city of Vinnitsa there are 143 churches in the outlying villages and smaller towns, and 53 church starts of 6-8 people. There is only 17-paid staff of this large central church, so almost all of the pastors must have some way for a personal and ministry income.
In the main church is a pastor, Ivan Ananofawich, who coordinates the work of the village pastors. They gather once a week to pray and encourage each other, and offer seminary classes for the pastors and lay people of the church, equipping them for outreach and children's ministries.
From this group there are senior pastors that coordinate the work for all the villages of a region (county). This varies from 1 - 7 churches/Bible studies for each senior pastor. Then, in each village that has work started, there is usually a head deacon to preach and carry on the ministries when the senior pastor can't be there.
The needs of the churches are for the ability to reach out to the community and build up the body of believers. Materials for children's Sunday school, chainsaws and such for "preaching with our hands", funds to have medical clinics, nursing home ministries, and Bible clubs in orphanage/dorm schools, as well as upkeep and building of church structures. These would be needs to consider for a one-time support project.
The needs of the senior pastors are support for his family so he can be more available for the ministry &/or transportation expenses (a gas budget and car repair fund). We have a list of 14 pastors that was complied by the main church. They are recommended for their ministry abilities and their mission fields are regional centers of 150 km or larger. These pastors receive little or no support and have minimal work opportunities. They would be grateful for $20 a month, CFK suggests $40- 50 a month and if possible a car repair fund.
